Chris Hedges, veteran journalist, National Book Award finalist and author of War Is a Force That Gives Us Meaning, will read from and discuss his new book American Fascists: The Chrisitan Right and the War On America. This book challenges the Christian Right’s religious legitimacy and argues that at its core, it is a mass movement fueled by unbridled nationalism and a hatred for the open society.

Chris Hedges talk was very enlightening and foreboding to say the least.
When will Chris be talking in the Philadelphia area?
February 2008
I just listened to the podcast. Chris Hedges is brilliant – a voice I’ve been waiting and wanting to hear. This makes an even more imperative case for a liberal Democrat in the White House this election year. I’ve always been wary of the extreme religious right, but now I understand that my innate value of tolerance may have a serious consequence. Thank you, Chris, for the wake-up call.
I’m trying to contact Chris Hedges about a speech he was purported to give in Houston TX in January 2008. It was replayed on a local TV station today and I was so moved by it that I would like to obtain a copy of it.
The speech often compared atheists and Christian fundamentalists, as well as our becoming aware of sin.
Thanks
Stan Pierce
I read your article on newspapers. The reason newspapers are losing readers is because they are owned by large corporations that print only the news they want Try in any paper to find something negative about McClain then try Obama.
All I can say is I agree with EVERYTHING Chris says! He is brilliant!
He looks at things from a new and fresh angle and he sees things clearly.
Every podcast of Chris’ that I have heard are terrific. I think he is sensing
things and dangers ahead for our country that should be front and center.
